John Biggs joins The Hospice Lottery as the new Chairman and comes to us with many years’ experience at Board level both in the Corporate and Non-Profit sectors.
When asked how he felt about his new role John said: “I am absolutely delighted to be joining The Hospice Lottery at this exciting, but challenging, time. Despite the real difficulties faced by the organisation over the past 18 months it has continued to generate consistent funds for the partner charities and has a very solid footing to build on as we come out of the pandemic.
“The Hospice Lottery is extremely well established with an excellent group of partners, and this is certainly an area to look at developing further. The organisation also has a committed and engaged Board and I am very much looking forward to working with them and the Chief Executive to realise the objectives of providing a secure and increasing source of income for our partners.
“As the new boy on the block I have a steep learning curve ahead, but my first focus will be to see how we can capitalise on the opportunities that will be there as our economy opens up and confidence returns.”
Starting 29 August, the cost of a lottery entry will increase to £1.50.
This change will introduce more prizes and increase the Rollover prize cap to £25,000. As a result, the current Rollover prize is guaranteed to be won in the draw on 22 August 2025.
This change will help to ensure we continue supporting the vital care that our partner charities provide.
